Conserving the Blaschka Glass Flowers at Harvard

Abstract: C. Mei-An Tsu, Conservator of the Ware Collection, reflects on her inaugural year caring for one of the most fragile and exquisitely crafted botanical records in the world: the Blaschka Glass Flowers. Drawing on her background as a glass and sculpture conservator at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Tsu will discuss the transition into this specialized role. A central focus of the talk will be the unique mentorship and training she received from Scott Fulton, fellow conservator, who pioneered innovative treatment techniques and preservation strategies for this renowned collection.
