The herbarium of Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862), housed at the Harvard University Herbaria, is in the process of being restored on Tuesdays in the "Fish Bowl" at 22 Divinity Avenue. This ongoing project is a collaboration between Harvard's curatorial staff and the Botany Libraries. Approximately 700 specimens are assessed for repair, transferred onto heavy herbarium sheets, and databased. A few of these specimens are currently on display at Thoreau's Maine Woods exhibit the Harvard Museum of Natural History which will be on view through February 2015.
