#  New director for Museums of Science and Culture

Jane Pickering has been named executive director of the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture, a new consortium that will draw on faculty and staff expertise and the collections of six partner museums.

The HMSC will draw on faculty and staff expertise, and the collections of six partner museums: the [Museum of Comparative Zoology,](http://www.mcz.harvard.edu/) the [Harvard University Herbaria,](/) and the [Mineralogical and Geological Museum](http://mgmh.fas.harvard.edu/home) (which have already been collaborating as the [Harvard Museum of Natural History](http://www.hmnh.harvard.edu)), and the [Semitic Museum,](http://www.semiticmuseum.fas.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do) the [Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology,](https://www.peabody.harvard.edu/) and the [Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments](http://chsi.harvard.edu/).
