#  Life and Death on Pangea

In January 2025, the PBS Eons production team visited our colleagues at the [Museum of Comparative Zoology (MCZ)](https://www.mcz.harvard.edu/) to film segments for their series, *Life and Death on Pangea*. That visit is now available on PBS with the first two episodes of the series officially released at the end of July 2026.

In the first episode, host Gabriel-Philip Santos and Christina Byrd, Collection Manager of Vertebrate Paleontology at the MCZ, explore the deep-time ecology of the late Paleozoic and highlight spectacular Carboniferous plant fossils from HUH's paleobotany collection. The segment, which runs from approximately 5:40 to 7:45, showcases how these ancient plants help scientists reconstruct the environments that existed long before the supercontinent Pangea came together.
