**Boston Society of Natural History Collection (About 2,000 slides and 50 dried samples)**

The collection of the Society's Section on Microscopy was developed between 1857 and 1876 and contains diatoms and a variety of other microscopical objects. Slides of material worked on by Richard Cranch Greenleaf, Charles Stodder, and Arthur Meade Edwards are strongly represented. It also contains some materials from Jacob Whitman Bailey, Loring Woart Bailey, Hamilton Lanphere Smith, and a variety of lesser known collectors and scientists.
