Bussey Professor Of Biology
General Interests: Plant population biology and biosystematics, especially the interface between evolution, physiology and ecology; evolution and ecology of desert, savanna, and forest floor plants; natural resources and land use, especially renewable resources in Latin America.
Current Projects: Variation in species of tropical savannas and grasslands; modeling the growth of plant populations; analysis of the dynamics behind "hollow curves;" models of management and conservation of biodiversity.
