Of all of the species that have existed at any time on earth, over 99% are thought to be extinct. My research aims to integrate the fossil record with living biodiversity to understand plant evolution. Such an integrated approach ultimately provides deeper insights into morphology, biogeography, ecological specializations, and the origins and evolution of modern vegetation.
