Scope and Content:
Collection consists of drawings of algae as seen through the microscope, along with handwritten descriptions of the specimens. These drawings were made primarily between the years 1915 and 1921. Some of the specimens that the drawings were made from were collected by other botanists, but most of the specimens were collected by Bullard between the years 1892 and 1912. The specimens were collected mostly from New England states, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine, but many were also collected from other states, such as Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, Washington, and Wisconsin. Several specimens were collected from the Canadian states of New Brunswick and Ontario.
